Russian military destroyed AFU combat vehicles in the Kursk border area
The Russian military has destroyed Ukrainian army equipment in the border area of Kursk Region. The Russian Defense Ministry published footage of the combat operation on 6 February.
The video shows Russian drones hitting combat vehicles of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU). This was done by drone operators of the 177th separate Guards Marine regiment.
Also on February 6, Uragan multiple rocket launcher system (MLRS) crews of the artillery brigade of the Russian Airborne Troops (VDV) artillery brigade from Novorossiysk struck strongholds with AFU personnel in the border area of Kursk Region. During the performance of combat tasks, the artillerymen used fragmentation-fugitive ammunition.
Before that, on February 5, it was reported that the Ukrainian army lost up to 325 military in the Kursk direction over the day, as well as three tanks, an armored personnel carrier, 36 armored combat vehicles, 29 vehicles, three field artillery guns and two mortars. The enemy's losses for the entire time of fighting in the region amounted to more than 57.6 thousand fighters.
The AFU attacked Russian positions in the border areas of the Kursk region on August 6, 2024. The situation in the region was recognized as a state of emergency of federal character. The liquidation of the Ukrainian militants who invaded the Russian territory is underway.
The special operation to protect Donbass, the beginning of which was announced by Russian President Vladimir Putin on February 24, 2022, continues. The decision was taken against the background of the aggravated situation in the region.
