Three Ukrainian militants sentenced to 15 and 16 years for terrorist attacks in Kursk region

Three militants of the 91 separate anti-tank division of the Ukrainian armed formations (VFU), who committed terrorist acts in Kursk Region, have been convicted. This was reported in the press service of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation on February 6.

The court recognized the evidence collected by the investigation as sufficient for sentencing Konstantin Ochimovsky, Alexei Nechiporuk and Vitaly Gonobobblev. According to the IC, on August 12, 2024, they illegally crossed the border of the Russian Federation, carrying AK-74 assault rifles, portable anti-tank missile systems "Javellin" and explosive devices.

While in the Sujansky and Korenevsky districts of the Kursk region, the militants intimidated the local population, threatened to use weapons, occupied houses, and fired on Russian military and civilians alike.

The militants were detained by members of the Russian Armed Forces on September 11, 2024.

The militants were found guilty under paras. "a" and "v" part 2 of article 205 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Committing a terrorist act by a group of persons by prior conspiracy, resulting in grave consequences").
