Putin congratulates South Ossetian President Gagloev on his birthday

Russian President Vladimir Putin has congratulated South Ossetian leader Alan Gagloev, who turned 44, on his birthday. The congratulatory message from the Russian leader was delivered by Russian Ambassador to South Ossetia Marat Kulakhmetov on February 6.

According to the press service of the president of the Transcaucasian republic, in the text of the telegram Putin noted Gagloev's attitude to strengthening allied relations between the countries.

"We highly appreciate your unwavering commitment to strengthening friendly, allied relations between our countries. We will, of course, continue close joint work on topical issues on the bilateral and regional agenda for the benefit of the peoples of Russia and South Ossetia," the text of the congratulatory message on the website of the president of the Transcaucasian republic is quoted.

The Russian leader wished Gagloev good health, prosperity and success in his work at the head of the republic. Kulakhmetov also conveyed congratulations from Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin and Deputy Chairman of the Security Council Dmitry Medvedev. Gagloev thanked the Russian leadership and wished the brotherly people of Russia peace, well-being and further prosperity.

Prior to that, on January 10, the Chairman of the State Duma Vyacheslav Volodin on Friday conveyed to Venezuelan leader Nicolas Maduro congratulations on taking office from the Russian leader. The re-elected Venezuelan president, after taking the oath of office, declared his intention to work for the benefit of the people, respect the laws and strive for prosperity, equality and a new democracy.
