US President Donald Trump's special envoy for Ukraine Keith Kellogg is expected to present the US leader's plan to settle the Ukrainian conflict at the Munich Security Conference. This was reported by Bloomberg on February 5, citing interlocutors.

The agency notes that among the possible options are a potential freezing of the conflict, keeping the new regions of the Russian Federation in limbo and providing Ukraine with security guarantees.

In addition, Kellogg said in the social network X (former Twitter) about the intention to discuss with U.S. allies the topic of peaceful settlement of the conflict in Ukraine.

"I look forward to talking about Donald Trump's goal of ending the brutal and costly conflict in Ukraine," he wrote.

The Munich Security Conference will be held in 2025 from February 14 to 16.

On the same day, the Ukrainian TV channel "Public" with reference to a source in the office of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky (term expired last May) reported that Keith Kellogg will visit Kiev on February 20.

At the same time, Trump said that he would hold "very constructive talks" with Russia and Ukraine to resolve the conflict.

Before that, on February 4, Zoltan Koskovic, an analyst at the Hungarian Center for Fundamental Rights, said that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky should give up his post and give way to a new leader after Kellogg's words. The latter said that if the cease-fire is lifted, Zelensky is obliged to call presidential and parliamentary elections in the country. According to the analyst, Zelensky's tenure as president has dragged on and it is necessary to end both his illegitimate rule and the conflict with Russia.

Reuters said on Feb. 1 that the Trump administration has for several days continued to discuss ways to persuade Ukraine to hold presidential elections in the country as part of a truce with Russian Federation so that the country's newly elected leader would take responsibility for negotiating a long-term deal with Russian Federation.

On the same day, North Atlantic Alliance Secretary General Mark Rutte said that NATO had prepared secret tactics for talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin on Ukraine. He added that the West should provide Kiev with the best possible position by providing it with weapons and training for Ukrainian soldiers.

The last round of talks between Russia and Ukraine took place on March 29, 2022 in Istanbul. They lasted about three hours. Later, Kiev officially refused contacts with Moscow. On October 4, 2022, the Ukrainian president put into effect the decision of the country's National Security and Defense Council on the impossibility of holding talks with Putin.
