The Arrow-10 SAM system hit the AFU's Shark UAV on the Krasnoarmeysk direction
An air defense missile system (SAM) "Strela-10" of the "Center" group of troops has destroyed a Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) "Shark", providing cover for the offensive actions of units in the Krasnoarmeysk direction. This was reported by the Russian Defense Ministry on February 6.
It is specified that the servicemen of the observation post detected a reconnaissance drone of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) of the airplane type. After determining the direction of the flying object, its coordinates were transmitted to the Strela-10 SAM system.
The servicemen put the complex on alert and after capturing the target fired a missile, hitting the aerial reconnaissance drone.
"The situation is normal, positive, UAVs fly every day, we roll out, choose a position so that the view was circular, camouflage the position and observe, the first seen reports and we start work", - said the commander of the anti-aircraft missile battery Oleg Kolotovkin.
Earlier, on February 4, the Defense Ministry showed footage of the assault on the AFU stronghold in the Krasnoarmeysk direction. After destroying defense firing points, the Russian Armed Forces attack aircraft in pairs entered the forest belt, where the AFU stronghold was located.
The special operation to protect Donbass, the start of which Russian President Vladimir Putinannounced on February 24, 2022, continues. The decision was made against the backdrop of the worsening situation in the region.
