The Kiev regime is conducting a campaign to radicalize and disinform Russians. This was stated by Chairman of the Investigative Committee (IC) of the Russian Federation Alexander Bastrykin on February 5 at an enlarged meeting of the board on the results of the agency's work in 2024.

"A significant impact on the replication of ideas of terrorism and neo-Nazism in the conditions of the NWO is also exerted by a broad propaganda campaign of disinformation and radicalization of the population deployed by the special services of Ukraine with the assistance of the collective West," he said. His words are quoted by TASS.

Bastrykin added that since the introduction of criminal liability for public dissemination of deliberately false information about the Russian army and its discrediting, 615 criminal cases have been initiated and 365 defendants have already been brought to trial, the agency quoted him as saying.

The press service of the Investigative Committee in its Telegram channel said that since 2014, the agency had opened more than 6,000 cases against 1,500 individuals, including representatives of the Ukrainian leadership, security agencies and radical nationalist associations.

Earlier, on January 17, First Deputy Chairman of the Russian Investigative Committee Eduard Kaburneev said at a meeting of the agency in Mariupol that the agency had completed the investigation of more than 50 criminal cases against AFU military personnel who committed crimes in Kursk Region.

In October 2024, Bastrykin said that the investigation into Ukraine's crimes against civilians in Donbass and the Russian military was continuing. By that time, 438 fighters of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) had been convicted and the investigation of 59 criminal cases of mercenarism had been completed.

The special operation to protect Donbass, the start of which was announced by the Russian Federation on February 24, 2022, continues. The decision was taken against the background of the aggravated situation in the region.
