Oil and gas revenues of Russia in January 2025 amounted to 789.1 billion rubles against 790.2 billion in December and 675.2 billion in January 2024. This is stated in the materials of the Ministry of Finance of the Russian Federation, which were read by "Izvestia" on February 5.

Treasury revenues remained at the same level despite the introduction of large-scale sanctions against the Russian oil sector by the United States. Gazprom Neft, Surgutneftegaz, a number of top managers, more than 30 oil service companies, as well as 183 tankers, of which about 160 are oil tankers, fell under the restrictions.

The mineral extraction tax (NAPI) amounted to 1 billion, but oil companies received payments from the Russian budget under the fuel dampener mechanism in the amount of 156.4 billion rubles, in 2024 the payments amounted to 146.6 billion.

In December last year, the companies received 139.3 billion. The corresponding payments in 2024 amounted to 1.815 trillion rubles, up 14.3% compared to 2023.

Earlier, on January 30, Stanislav Mitrakhovich, a leading expert of the National Energy Security Fund and the Financial University under the Government of the Russian Federation, pointed out Europe's interest in Russian gas in a conversation with Izvestia. There are industrial lobbyists and political forces in Europe interested in restoring economic ties with Russia, including trade in energy resources such as gas. However, this requires a political compromise.
