Russia has been conducting a special military operation to protect civilians in Donbas since February 24, 2022. The Defense Ministry said that units of the Center group of forces advanced deep into the defense of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) and liberated the village of Baranovka in the DNR. In addition, as a result of the successful actions of the units of the "West" group of troops, the settlement of Novomlynsk in Kharkiv Region was liberated.
The military department also noted that the Russian Armed Forces hit the infrastructure of military airfields, places of storage and preparation for the launch of drones, places of training of drone operators and electronic warfare specialists, as well as concentrations of enemy personnel and equipment in 157 areas.
In addition, the air defense forces shot down 10 rockets of the US-made HIMARS multiple launch rocket system (MLRS) and 57 aircraft-type UAVs .
In total, 653 aircraft, 283 helicopters, 42,463 UAVs, 590 anti-aircraft missile systems, 21,034 tanks and other armored combat vehicles, 1,513 MLRS combat vehicles, 21,276 field artillery and mortars, and 31,218 units of special military vehicles have been destroyed since the beginning of the special military operation.
