The Mi-171A3 helicopter, as well as the IL-76 and IL-114 airplanes are capable of becoming bestsellers on the global market. This was stated by Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation Anton Alikhanov during the NAIS civil aviation infrastructure exhibition on February 5.

According to the Minister, now more than a quarter of all transportation in Asian countries is carried out by turboprop aircraft. As Alikhanov noted, Russia can offer its Il-114 passenger airplane to buyers in this sphere.

In addition, the head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade drew attention to the high demand for IL-76 transport aircraft. According to him, the current refusal to supply this aircraft for export is solely due to the need to meet the needs of the Russian army.

Finally, Alikhanov noted the great export prospects of domestic helicopters. The Mi-171A3 is capable of competing with other models on the international market, the minister said.

"These three machines are probably the top best-sellers that can potentially make up our export pride," he concluded.

The exhibition takes place on February 5 and 6 at Crocus Expo. During the event, specialists and managers will get acquainted with innovations in the aviation industry from all over Russia. The exhibition will present samples of machinery, equipment and technologies of more than 140 companies from 20 regions of Russia, Belarus, China and Iran.

Earlier in the day, the minister also announced the discussion of expanding the production of the IL-76. According to him, the airplane is one of the best in the world among cargo vehicles and surpasses foreign competitors in terms of characteristics.
