In 2024, the number of accidents involving carsharing cars in Moscow decreased by 11% year-on-year. The number of injured decreased by 12%, and the number of dead decreased by 53%. This was reported by Maxim Liksutov, Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Transportation and Industry.

At the same time, the total number of trips on cars of the capital's carsharing in the past year increased by 2 million year-on-year.

"Every year, carsharing is becoming safer. Assessment of driving style, on the basis of which a user rating is formed by operators, fines and access restrictions for dangerous driving are measures that help reduce accidents. Together with operators of carsharing services and the State Automobile Inspectorate we will continue to increase the level of service safety, as the Mayor of Moscow Sergey Sobyanin has instructed", - Maxim Liksutov told.

The city carsharing service appeared in Moscow in 2015. At that time there were only 350 cars in the car fleet, the service was used by about 30 thousand people. Every year interest in rental services grew, the idea of renting a car rather than buying it became more and more popular. Today the capital's carsharing, according to the capital's dept. of transportation, is the world leader in terms of the service's development dynamics and the number of cars in the fleet. There are 40 thousand cars available for rent in Moscow, and there is not a single car below the Euro-5 eco-class, and the average age of a carsharing car is 1.5 years. In Moscow, 1.7 million people regularly use carsharing.
