The premiere of the ethno-opera "Prince Vladimir" will take place on Wednesday, February 5, at the Kremlin Palace in Moscow. A dress rehearsal was held the day before.

It is noted that the creators paid special attention to choreography, special effects and scenery, which help to create the atmosphere of the historical era.

"This is some completely new genre, invented by Igor Matvienko. This is a musical performance based on these historical events," said Nikolai Rastorguev, People's Artist of Russia and performer of the role of the voevoda Fedor.

The plot of the production is based on the path of Prince Vladimir, described in the "Tale of Bygone Years", and includes elements of fantasy with characters from Scandinavian mythology. The main role in the ethno-opera is played by singer SHAMAN (real name - Yaroslav Dronov), who demonstrates the transformation of a man - from a pagan to the Great Prince, who led the people to God.

"None of us knows what Vladimir was like in life, in reality. We can judge by the facts, the fact is that in 988 he baptized Russia, this is a great event. Probably what unites us - we love Russia", - shared the performer.

Composer and producer Igor Matvienko said that he had been working on the ethno-opera for 13 years, collecting melodies with a thousand-year history. The production uses different languages - from Scandinavian to Greek - and also features a Russian hit in Icelandic.

The role of the leader of the Vikings will be played by the soloist of the Helikon Opera Theater Dmitry Yankovsky, and the singer Soya (real name Asiyat Saygidova) will play Rogneda.

Stage director Andrei Elsakov noted that new meanings were discovered during the rehearsal process. Initially, the main theme was the transformation of personality and the search for the true path, but then the emphasis shifted to forgiveness.

The ethno-opera "Prince Vladimir" will also be presented on February 26 at the Ice Palace in St. Petersburg.

Earlier, on January 27, rehearsals of the ethno-opera "Prince Vladimir" were completed in Moscow. They were held in the Theater of the Russian Army.

According to SHAMAN, in this material, he can not hide his emotions, on stage the audience will feel a solid testosterone. Not in all operas you can behave like an "animal". But the role allows the baritone to give himself to the music without a trace.
