- Rosaviatsia and the Ministry of Transport expect an increase in passenger traffic in 2025
Passenger traffic of Russian airlines in 2025 is expected to amount to 109.7 million people. This was announced by the head of Rosaviatsia Dmitry Yadrov on February 5.
"For this year, Rosaviatsia with the Ministry of Transport set a target of about 109.7 million passengers," he said at the plenary session of the NAIS-2025 exhibition.
In turn, the head of the Ministry of Transport Roman Starovoit noted that he sees opportunities for the expansion of air transportation. He recalled that in 2024 the country's airlines carried 111.7 million passengers.
According to him, not only maintaining the airworthiness of aircraft, but also the creation of ground infrastructure and the use of "wet" leasing are important for growth. "Such solutions as 'wet leasing' are additional opportunities and points of growth in the future," Starovoit added.
Earlier, on January 9, Starovoit announced the provision of a 50% discount by Russian airlines for children under 12 years old. He added that families with children will be provided with affordable air travel within the framework of three subsidy programs, which are fully funded.
