The festival "Chinese New Year", held within the framework of the project "Winter in Moscow", will give a chance to citizens and tourists to walk around the center of the capital, admire the bright and unusual decor and make spectacular photos. This was reported on Wednesday, February 5, the portal of the mayor of the city Sergey Sobyanin.
For this event brightly decorated the streets and alleys of the city. Strollers can see red lanterns, coins with holes, golden carp, butterflies, knots knitted from threads, which in Chinese culture represent happiness, luck, prosperity and joy.
"Beautiful traditional decor will allow all visitors to feel the atmosphere of an oriental fairy tale and be charged with a great mood," the report says.
For example, pailou - ornamented triumphal gates - are installed on Manezhnaya Square. This is a traditional Chinese construction, which used to be erected in honor of rulers, heroes or important events. There you can also find light arches decorated with red and gold Chinese lanterns and inscriptions with New Year greetings, and a giant inflatable dragon.
The whole Manezhnaya Square is framed by Chinese lanterns, creating the feeling of a fairy tale. The shopping chalets are also beautifully decorated. They depict traditional Chinese characters, which contain wishes of prosperity, happiness and well-being to each guest.
Earlier, on January 31, it was reported that on Tverskoy Boulevard within the framework of the project "Winter in Moscow" will be held demonstrations of the traditional Chinese "Dragon Dance" in honor of Chinese New Year celebrations

Russians celebrate the Chinese New Year with pleasure. Last year, the celebration was held in the Russian capital with great fanfare.
