Three underage schoolchildren and six parents from the state of Virginia were killed in a plane crash in Washington. The local school board's press office said Jan. 30.

"At this time we know that three of our students and six of our parents were lost," - stated in the message of the press service.

It is specified that two of the parents were former members of the administration.

On the night of January 30, an American Airlines passenger plane and a Black Hawk military helicopter collided near Ronald Reagan National Airport in Washington, D.C. After the crash, they fell into the Potomac River. A total of 60 passengers and four crew members were aboard the plane. There were three military personnel in the helicopter. The television company NBC News reported that the bodies of more than 30 victims were extracted from the water. In turn, US President Donald Trump reported on the absence of survivors in the airplane crash in Washington.

Later it was reported that in the plane, preliminary, there were eight skaters and four coaches. The Boston Figure Skating Club said the coaches, world champion figure skaters Evgenia Shishkova and Vadim Naumov, were on board, along with hopeful junior skaters and their parents. In addition to them, former figure skater Inna Volyanskaya was on the plane. In addition, it became known that Russian former figure skater Alexander Kirsanov was on board the plane that crashed in Washington.

The Russian Embassy in the United States expects that the State Department of the United States will soon provide information about the dead Russians.

At the same time, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that there were Russian citizens in the plane that crashed in Washington. Peskov reported that there were Russian figure skaters on board the passenger plane. He expressed condolences to the families and loved ones of those who died in the plane crash.
