Russian ambassador to Ethiopia talks about prospects for expanding direct air links
The availability of regular flights between Moscow and Addis Ababa contribute to the growth of tourist traffic from Russia to Ethiopia, Russian Ambassador to Ethiopia Yevgeny Terekhin told Izvestia.
"The national carrier, Ethiopian Airlines, is considering the prospects of increasing the number of flights on the Addis Ababa-Moscow route (currently four times a week). The possibility of flights to other Russian regions is also under discussion," the diplomat said.
According to him, Ethiopian Airlines also intends to complete by the end of 2029 the project to build a large air harbor near Addis Ababa, capable of providing capacity of 100 million passengers per year.
