US says to provide report on plane crash within 30 days
The U.S. National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) will provide a report with preliminary circumstances of the plane crash in Washington within 30 days. The announcement was made by Todd Inman, a spokesman for the board, during a Jan. 30 press conference that was posted on the NTSB's YouTube channel.
"We expect to submit a preliminary report within 30 days," Inman said.
He added that the final report will be provided when all the details and circumstances of the incident are established. According to him, it has not yet been established what caused the airplane crash - human or mechanical factor. The spokesman also clarified that the council will provide regular updates of the airplane crash investigation.
Inman noted that the NTSB's team of experts will remain on the scene "as long as necessary."
Earlier in the day, Major General, honored military pilot of the Russian Federation, candidate of technical sciences, independent expert Vladimir Popov admitted that the plane crash over Washington could have occurred due to a difference in traffic control between civilian and military aircraft.
The same day, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that there were Russian citizens in the plane that crashed in Washington. Peskov said Russian figure skaters were on board the passenger plane. He expressed condolences to the families and loved ones of those who died in the airplane crash.
It is noted that on board the airplane of American Airlines, preliminary, there were eight skaters and four coaches.

A Bombardier CRJ700 airplane flying from Wichita and a Sikorsky H-60 military helicopter of the U.S. Army, which was approaching for landing, collided in the air.
