Zakharova called on Scholz, who condemned Musk, to stop supporting Ukraine
If German Chancellor Olaf Scholz started condemning everyone who supports right-wing forces in Europe, as, for example, American billionaire and entrepreneur Elon Musk is doing, the head of the German government should stop helping the neo-Nazi regime Ukraine. This was announced on January 29 by the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova.
"Is something broken in Berlin? Has Scholz started condemning everyone who supports the far-right across Europe? "... Then he needs to start with self-condemnation, stop military and other support for [Ukrainian President Vladimir] Zelensky and his terrorist gang," Zakharova wrote on her Telegram channel, commenting on Scholz's interview. CNN TV channel.
She pointed out that the chancellor should go all the way and condemn those who support Kiev, which is run by real neo-Nazis.
The official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry noted that in the interview Scholz allowed himself to manipulate historical facts: according to him, Germany was liberated from Nazism not by the Red Army of the USSR and not by allies in the anti-Hitler coalition, but by the forces of USA.
Thus, Scholz ignores the facts that 600,000 Red Army soldiers died for the liberation of Poland and, in particular, the city of Auschwitz with its death camp, and the inhabitants of Berlin were saved from starvation by the Soviet commandant's office in May-June 2024. Zakharova noted that Scholz did not seem to remember the installation of the red flag of the Soviet Union over the Reichstag either.
The official representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs called the reason for such words the modern historiography of Germany and NATO, which casts a shadow on the heroism of the Red Army, denies the genocide of the Soviet people and continues the segregation of victims of Nazism. To combat this, it is necessary to defend the historical truth.
Earlier, on January 25, Musk, speaking at an election event of the Alternative for Germany (AfD) party, said that the German leadership practices totalitarianism, restricting the freedom of speech of citizens. The billionaire said that Germans should be proud of their nation and stop feeling guilty about the country's past.
On January 29, Scholz criticized Musk's statement in an interview with the American television channel CNN, noting that Germany has always carried and He will continue to bear responsibility for the actions of the German Nazis, and this applies both to citizens whose grandparents lived in this country in the past, and migrants. At the same time, Scholz expressed gratitude to the United States for saving Germany from Nazism.
The President of Russia Vladimir Putin, in turn, said on January 27 that Moscow will continue to resist attempts by European politicians to rewrite history and, in particular, the legal and moral sentence imposed on the Nazis and their collaborators. The Head of State urged never to forget that It was Soviet soldiers who liberated Auschwitz and revealed the truth about the crimes of the Nazis.
