Russian servicemen destroyed nine Starlink satellite communication stations and 13 control points for drones overnight. This was announced on January 28 by Ivan Bigma, head of the press center of the "West" troop grouping.

"Over the day <...> 13 UAV control points and nine Starlink satellite communication stations were destroyed," he told TASS.

In addition, Bigma said, air defense (air defense) calculations of the Western grouping of troops destroyed two aircraft-type unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs).

Earlier in the day, the Russian Defense Ministry said that the Msta-B guns and BM-21 Grad multiple launch rocket systems (MLRS) of the South group of troops eliminated up to 100 Ukrainian Armed Forces (AFU) fighters and several combat vehicles in the Kurakhov area of the special military operation (SMO). The agency noted that BM-21 Grad calculations of the motorized rifle regiment worked on the outskirts of the Dachne settlement in the Donetsk People's Republic (DNR).

The special operation to protect Donbass, the start of which was announced by Russian President Vladimir Putin on February 24, 2022, continues. The decision was made against the backdrop of the worsening situation in the region.
