Fighters of the "Center" group of troops told about the liberation of Timofeevka in the DNR

Soldiers of the special-purpose unit of the Center troops group have given details of the liberation of the village of Timofeevka in the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR) in the Krasnoarmeysk direction of the special military operation (SMO) zone. This was reported by the Russian Defense Ministry on January 28.

Thus, in the course of offensive actions the fighters of the Armed Forces (AF) of the Russian Federation, using the folds of the terrain and fog, stealthily entered the settlement of Timofeevka, carried out the clearing of the settlement from Ukrainian militants.

At the same time, the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU), not expecting an attack, organized the defense of the settlement, but while one group distracted the main attention, other groups of special forces outflanked the enemy and destroyed the Ukrainian militants. After the destruction of the main forces of the AFU, the remnants of the garrison, who did not have time to escape from their positions, surrendered as prisoners.

"The enemy behaved strangely, that is, the fight gave, but behaved inactive. They apparently feel that the ground beneath their feet is going away," said Guards Sergeant Maxim Nazin, deputy commander of the group.

Earlier, on January 24, the Russian Defense Ministry reported that the Russian military liberated the village of Timofeevka in the DNR. It is noted that the Center military group continued advancing deep into the enemy's defenses in the DNR during the past week, taking control of the settlements of Petropavlovka, Vozdvizhenka, Volkovo, Solenoye and Shevchenko.

The special operation to defend Donbass, the start of which was announced by the Russian president on February 24, 2022, continues. The decision was made against the backdrop of the worsening situation in the region.
