On January 28, the Russian Defense Ministry reported on the exploits of servicemen of the Russian Armed Forces (AF) committed during a special military operation (SMO).

The ministry noted the actions of Junior Sergeant Danila Sinitsyn, who commanded the artillery gun crew of a howitzer artillery battery and performed fire support tasks for the unit during the defense of an important area.

The militants of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) attempted to attack the territory defended by Sinitsyn's battery. Immediately after this information was received by the serviceman, he proceeded to engage the enemy. With accurate fire from the barrel artillery the unit struck at the AFU fighters, destroyed several units of vehicles and manpower. Thanks to Sinitsyn's professional actions, the enemy retreated and the area remained under the control of Russian servicemen.

In addition, the Defense Ministry drew attention to the merits of Private Sergei Vlasov, who acted as a member of a multiple rocket launcher system (MLRS) and performed tasks to support Russian units in one of the important tactical directions of the offensive.

In the course of the battle, Vlasov received coordinates of the concentration of equipment and reserves of the AFU preparing to attack the positions of Russian troops. Having assessed the situation, he quickly and stealthily moved the combat vehicle to a favorable firing position, made calculations, aimed at the target and attacked the enemy forces.

As a result of the targeted volley, the AFU fighters suffered significant losses and, unable to bring additional reserves into the battle, retreated. Thanks to Vlasov's skillful and competent actions, the Russian units managed to repel the enemy attack.

Earlier, on January 27, the Russian Defense Ministry reported that the crew of a T-80BV tank of a separate motorized rifle brigade of the 3rd Army Corps destroyed a tank and an infantry fighting vehicle (IFV) of the AFU on the Chasovyar direction of the special operation zone with two targeted hits.

The special operation to protect Donbass, the start of which was announced by Russian President Vladimir Putin on February 24, 2022, continues. The decision was made against the background of the aggravated situation in the region.
