Russian storm trooper told about the liberation of Velikaya Novoselka
The assault on Velyka Novoselka came as a surprise to the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) because the Russian military showed resourcefulness, intimidated the enemy and "marched like a parade". The corresponding statement was made by a serviceman of the 1st Assault Company "B", 5th Tank Brigade with the call sign Bes.
"First went the tank in front, then already our column. We, it turns out, went after the tank. APCs, MTLBs, eight units of equipment came in," Bes noted.
According to him, the attackers came in along the central road, with the 40th Brigade on one side and the 5th Brigade on the other. The serviceman stressed that the other brigades came in "on the sides", and his unit went into the very center of Velika Novoselka.
"Went as on May 9, on the parade. To come in, of course, it was a bit difficult, there were difficulties. Our tank was hit, we moved without a tank, we were the first in the column. Our platoon was hit by a motorcycle, it turns out that we took the whole blow on ourselves. Thus we opened the passage to the village to the main column, which followed us", - emphasized the military man.
Bes noted that for the Ukrainian militants the assault came as a surprise. At the same time, his unit entered the settlement on foot.
"They tried to hold their positions, but there were no longer such shooting fights as before. They mainly used drones, artillery, cluster munitions, mortars, and then they started to run away," the military officer said.
He added that the AFU could not organize any large-scale and super-serious resistance, as was the case in the "fortress city of Ugledar".
The Russian military officer noted that the attack on Velyka Novoselka began after a long artillery preparation. He added that American MANPADS with thermobaric shells were found at the positions.
It was reported the day before that the Russian Armed Forces (RAF) liberated the settlement of Velikaya Novoselka in the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR). On the same day, the Russian Defense Ministry said that the military grouping of troops "Vostok" had destroyed AFU strongholds in Velyka Novoselka.
The special operation to protect Donbass, the start of which Russian President Vladimir Putin announced on February 24, 2022, continues. The decision was made against the background of the aggravated situation in the region.
