Russian bomber hits AFU stronghold in Kursk border region

A crew of the Su-35S of the Russian Air and Space Forces (VKS) has performed a combat mission to escort fighter-bombers in the border area of the Kursk Region. Images of the combat mission were published by the Russian Defense Ministry on January 27.

Accompanied by the Su-35S, the Su-34 multifunctional supersonic fighter-bomber struck a stronghold and personnel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) with aerial bombs. The fire attack was carried out with the use of high-explosive aerial bombs with a universal module (UMPK).

After performing combat work, the fighter crews returned to the basing airfield. Intelligence later reported in its report that the targets had been successfully hit.

On the night of January 27, a Su-34 crew hit a Ukrainian army stronghold in the border area of Kursk Region. It was specified that the strike was carried out using aviation bombs with a universal planning and correction module (UMPK).

The AFU attacked Russian positions in the border areas of the Kursk region on August 6, 2024. The situation in the region was recognized as a federal emergency. The liquidation of the Ukrainian militants who invaded the Russian territory is underway.

The special operation to protect Donbass, the beginning of which was announced by Russian President Vladimir Putin on February 24, 2022, continues. The decision was taken against the background of the aggravated situation in the region.
