The Russian military has begun using FPV drones of a new type in the area of a special military operation. The drones are equipped with camera traps and demonstrate unique opportunities for covert surveillance, the American magazine Forbes writes.

The publication notes that the characteristics of such drones can be covertly placed along the roads, transmitting video images of all passing cars and nearby objects without attracting attention. And their mobility combined with other technologies yields impressive results.

"This drone <...> is an effective and stealthy spy that the U.S. military could only dream of," the material says.

At the same time, it is emphasized that the unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV) are assembled from inexpensive parts available on the open market.

Earlier this month it was reported that Russia began to produce elements of the control system of drones, in particular - navigation modules and controllers for engines to reduce dependence on parts from Southeast Asia.

The special operation to protect Donbass, the start of which Russian President Vladimir Putin announced on February 24, 2022, continues. The decision was made against the backdrop of the worsening situation in the region.
