US President Donald Trump said at a rally in Las Vegas on Saturday, January 25, that he was suspending the hiring of new agents at the US Internal Revenue Service (IRS) indefinitely, words that were met with applause.

"They have hired or tried to hire 88,000 workers to harass you, and we're working on a plan to either fire them all or possibly move them to the border," Trump said, addressing his supporters, his words quoted by The New York Post (NYP).

The head of state pointed out that IRS agents have the right to own guns. For this reason, they can be sent to the border. Speaking about the possible dismissal of such civil servants, Trump recalled that many of them receive a salary from $72 billion allocated to the agency within the framework of the "Inflation Reduction Act".

Earlier on Jan. 25, the Associated Press reported that special "Make America Great Again (MAGA) commissioners" are vetting federal employees and agencies who want to work there under Trump for loyalty to the new president. These specialists visit the government agencies themselves, study the political views and publications of officials in social networks, complements "Gazeta.Ru".

Before that, on January 20, immediately after the inauguration, Trump signed more than 200 new decrees. Among them was a ban on officials from adopting new regulations until the new administration begins to fully control the processes in the federal government. In addition, the hiring of government employees was frozen for this time - an exception was made only for the military and some other categories. Moreover, tens of thousands of officials will be deprived of job security, and this will allow Trump and his team to carry out mass layoffs.

On January 20, Trump took the oath of office in the Capitol rotunda, becoming the 47th president of the United States. The election for the 47th president of the United States was held on November 5. In the popular vote, Trump received 51% of the vote, while former US Vice President Kamala Harris received 47.4%.
