- The State Duma has proposed introducing self-prohibition of purchases on marketplaces
Deputy speaker of the State Duma Vladislav Davankov from the New People party proposed to the head of the Ministry of Economic Development Maxim Reshetnikov to legally oblige marketplaces to introduce the function of setting a self-limit for citizens to purchase goods or setting a monthly monetary limit. This was reported by RBC on January 23, referring to the content of the document.
According to the initiative, the user of marketplaces will be able to independently customize the parameters of restrictions: the amount of the limit, which he is ready to spend, the category of goods and the duration of the ban.
"The implementation of the above initiative can help people who suffer from addiction to uncontrolled impulsive online purchases and will allow them to avoid financial problems," Davankov explained.
According to the deputy speaker of the State Duma, this proposal should solve the problem of uncontrolled consumption and dependence of Russians on online purchases.
Earlier, on December 18, 2024, the government apparatus sent to the agencies for approval a fresh version of the bill "On platform economy", we are talking about a new regulation for marketplaces. The agency also proposed to introduce a ban on the sale of certain products on aggregators. This applies, for example, to illegal goods, as well as dietary supplements that have not confirmed their quality and safety, i.e. have not received state registration documents.
