Russians told about spending on food
Almost every seventh Russian respondent (15%) spends less than Br10 thousand a month on food. One third of respondents (34%) spend 10-20 thousand rubles on food, and 28% spend 20-30 thousand rubles. This is stated in the results of the study of the "Package" service from X5, which were presented to "Izvestia" on January 24.
Higher spending (Br50 thousand and above) is typical only for 1% of respondents. At the same time 61% prefer to use discounts and promotions, 12% use cashback services and loyalty programs, 5% of respondents plan menus for a week, and 9% buy food in bulk. Only 13% of respondents do not save money.
Half (51%) of respondents visit stores two or three times a week, and 40% visit every day. Once a week, 7% of respondents buy groceries, and only 2% buy groceries as needed or once every two weeks. Almost half (49%) of Russians cook daily, and 24% cook four or five times a week. Only 1% of respondents prefer to order food, and 3% cook exclusively on weekends. In addition, 41% of respondents said that they mainly store in offline stores, sometimes ordering online. 18% combine both methods depending on the situation, and only 4% have completely switched to online shopping.
The main place in the food basket of most Russians (51%) is occupied by vegetables, fruits, meat, dairy products and cereals. At the same time, 39% try to include a variety of food groups. Semi-finished and frozen foods are chosen by only 7%, and healthy food such as organic products and superfoods - 1%.
When choosing products, most Russians (53%) pay attention to quality and composition, while 39% pay attention to price. Recommendations from friends and family, brand or appearance of the product play a lesser role. Only 2% of Russians pay attention to the product brand.
Earlier, on September 23, 2024, it was reported that the majority of Russians surveyed (62.2%) believe that they adhere to the principles of healthy eating, and 91% of them prepare healthy food at home. At the same time, 35% of respondents say that it is difficult for them to stick to a healthy diet.
