Patrushev inspected the construction of a waste utilization plant in Tatarstan

Russian Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Patrushev, on a working visit to Tatarstan on January 23, familiarized himself with the progress of construction of an incineration plant near Kazan. The new facility was also discussed during the meeting with the Head of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov, where the parties discussed the implementation of the national projects "Ecology" and "Ecological Well-Being" in the republic.

According to the press service of the head of Tatarstan, Minnikhanov said that in the Zelenodolsky district, construction of an energy utilization enterprise with a capacity of 550,000 tons of solid municipal waste (MSW) per year has now begun. After that, the head of the republic together with Patrushev went to the facility to see the progress of work.

Vasily Belosevich, General Director of AGK-2 LLC, said that works on the construction of the plant, which were stopped in 2023, were resumed again after the conclusion of a contract for the supply of key equipment for the project with Chinese partners. According to him, at the moment the works on construction of the bunker section, engineering and utility building have been completed, as well as steel structures of the turbine section have been assembled. Temporary structures, warehouses and sheds have also been built. Overall, the readiness of the facility is 24%.

"Here are two cells for HRSGs, also all foundations are made and here on these foundations lifting mechanisms will be put and installation will begin. <...> The pipe will be 98 meters, exactly the same as at the Moscow plants," Belosevich said.

Earlier in the day it was reported that Patrushev noted the developed economy of the region during his meeting with Minnikhanov. He added that the republic has a very large potential for further growth, and the region is implementing extremely large-scale investment projects in all sectors of the economy. According to the deputy prime minister, the republic has shown positive investment dynamics in 2024.
