The Russian government will allocate 11.3 billion rubles to the "Defenders of the Fatherland" fund. This was announced by Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Mikhail Mishustin on January 23.

He noted that the funds will be allocated from the federal budget on the instructions of Russian President Vladimir Putin. They will be used for lump-sum payments to participants of the special military operation (SMO), who were wounded resulting in the onset of disability.

"Such social support should help them overcome the consequences of injuries, undergo rehabilitation <...> and return home as soon as possible to their families and friends," Mishustin emphasized at the government meeting.

Earlier, on December 23 last year, Mishustin said that documents that equalize payments for fighters of the Strategic Defense Forces and defenders of border territories, including those who defend Kursk region have already been signed.
