The Russian side does not see anything new in US President Donald Trump's statements about the possibility of new sanctions, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said on January 23.

"We are not considering any new elements here," he told reporters, commenting on the new US leader's statements.

Peskov recalled that Trump actively resorted to sanctions methods during his first presidential term. According to him, Moscow is very closely watching all the rhetoric in the United States and carefully recording all the nuances.

At the same time, Russia remains ready for an equal dialog on the basis of mutual respect, as President Vladimir Putin has repeatedly said, the spokesman for the head of state pointed out.

He noted that there was such a dialog between the leaders of Russia and the United States when Trump was in the White House during his first term. Now the Russian Federation is waiting for signals, which have not yet arrived, summarized Peskov.
