The owner of the wrecked tanker turned out to have ties to an underwear business
The ultimate beneficiary of the firm that owns the Volgoneft-239 tanker is most likely businessman Igor Shavva, Izvestia found out during its investigation. Among his numerous businesses is, for example, a lingerie company.
Valeria LLC owns a factory in Kolomna, Moscow Region, and produces underwear under the Valeria and La Sete brands.
The information about the members of the Board of Directors of Valeria LLC specifies that Igor Shavva is a nuclear physicist by education. As Izvestia found out, he also owns a whole office block in Moscow - between Rubtsovsky Embankment and Bakuninskaya Street. At least until 2023, he was the main beneficiary of the investment company DVM-Invest.
In addition, Igor Shavva may be the ultimate beneficiary of the transportation company Volgatransservice, which in turn has signs of affiliation with Volgotransneft. It is the latter firm that owns the tanker Volgoneft-239. On December 15, 2024, it ran aground in the Kerch Strait and caused a fuel oil spill.
