- More than 23 thousand residents of the Krasnoyarsk region were left without electricity after the hurricane
The overnight hurricane in the Krasnoyarsk region left more than 23 thousand people in 44 settlements without electricity. This was reported by the Governor of the region Mikhail Kotyukov on January 23 following a meeting of the operational headquarters on liquidation of consequences.
"The key task today is to restore power supply in all districts of the region. We will check the situation on the ground every two hours," he wrote in Telegram-channel.
The governor specified that specialists are eliminating torn networks. According to him, the number of brigades of resource supplying organizations has been increased.
Also Kotyukov instructed the heads of the affected settlements to introduce special response modes and prepare in advance backup sources of electricity in connection with the expected cold weather.
Earlier, on January 16, the scientific head of the Russian Hydrometeorological Center Roman Vilfand said that since the end of autumn the weather in the country is affected by Atlantic air. It was specified that because of this temperature anomalies are observed not only in the European part of the country, but also in Siberia and on the Pacific coast. In this regard, temperature records have been set in some regions of the Russian Federation. For example, in Ulan-Ude and Irkutsk the temperature was slightly above zero. Thus, the 1921 record of -4 degrees was exceeded.
