A criminal case has been opened over the fact of a man's attack on the correspondent of TV channel "78" Anastasia Kurochkina in St. Petersburg, a criminal case has been initiated. This was reported on Thursday, January 23, by the press service of the Main Investigative Directorate of the Investigative Committee (IC) of Russia in the region.
The criminal case was initiated under part 3 of article 144 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Obstruction of legitimate professional activities of journalists, coupled with violence against journalists").
The IC recalled that the day before on Vasilievsky Island, when the crew of the TV channel "78" filmed a report about a dog locked in the car, the owner of the animal hit the correspondent in the face after the journalist asked him about the reasons for such an attitude to the animal.
"Investigative actions are being conducted to establish the circumstances of the incident, as well as the whereabouts of the man", - stated in the message of the Department in the Telegram-channel.
Earlier, on January 22, the TV channel "78" reported on the attack of a man on Kurochkina in St. Petersburg. She, when she covered the situation with a dog locked in the car, was attacked by the owner of the animal. The channel specified that the attacker tried to beat up the cameraman as well.
