Altai resident sentenced to five years in prison for transferring data to Ukraine

Altai Krai court sentenced a resident of the region to five years in prison for cooperation with a foreign organization, the activities of which are directed against the security of Russia. This was reported on January 23 by the press service of the Department of the Federal Security Service (FSB) in the region.

The offender will serve his sentence in a penal colony of general regime.

Investigation of the criminal case under Article 275.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Cooperation on a confidential basis with a foreign state, international or foreign organization") showed that a Russian citizen born in 1983 secretly collected data on military facilities in the region.

It is noted that the figure, who opposes the special operation in Ukraine, corresponded with a representative of a Ukrainian organization via Internet messenger. After that on a gratuitous basis provided information about the military facilities of the Altai region, their checkpoint regime and security system.

"On the fact of cooperation with a foreign state, a foreign organization, the figure did not inform anyone, acted secretly, observing measures of conspiracy, which ensured the confidentiality of cooperation relations", - specified in the Department.

Earlier, on January 21, the Federal Security Service of Russia reported that a college student in Barnaul was detained while attempting to commit a terrorist act on behalf of a Ukrainian terrorist organization. It was noted that a Russian born in 2006, who opposes the special military operation in Ukraine, attempted to commit arson at the military commissariat of the region with the help of a device with an incendiary mixture that he had made himself. A criminal case of attempted commission of a terrorist act was opened.
