A Fagot PTRK hit an AFU observation post in Kherson region
The Fagot anti-tank missile system of the Dnipro group of troops has hit an observation point of Ukrainian formations on the right bank of the Dnieper river in Kherson Region, the Russian Defense Ministry has reported on 23 January. This was reported by the Russian Defense Ministry on January 23.
In the course of reconnaissance on the right bank of the river controlled by the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU), an observation point of Ukrainian formations was identified, from which the Russian army positions were constantly monitored. The command decided to launch a strike with a Fagot anti-tank missile system.
The unit's crew promptly moved to the firing position, launched a guided missile and hit the target with an accurate hit.
"There are two people in the calculation, the commander and I, the assistant turns out. We work on targets. The target reconnaissance identifies, we move out, work out and, accordingly, we run back," - said the operator with the call sign Leshy.
Earlier, on January 1, the Russian Defense Ministry reported that the Buk-M2 anti-aircraft missile systems of the Dnepr group of troops destroyed a Ukrainian UAV in the Kakhovsky direction in the Kherson region. While on combat duty, a Buk-M2 SAM system detected and escorted an enemy aerial target. The artillerymen launched an anti-aircraft guided missile and hit the target, which was conducting aerial reconnaissance of the positions of the Russian Armed Forces troops.
The special operation to protect Donbass, the start of which was announced by Russian President Vladimir Putin on February 24, 2022, continues. The decision was made against the backdrop of the aggravated situation in the region.
