Paratrooper artillerymen from Novorossiysk have hit a Ukrainian Armed Forces (AFU) mortar on the right bank of the Dnieper River in Kherson Region. This was reported by the Russian Defense Ministry on January 23.

The aerial reconnaissance found a camouflaged mortar with a crew in one of the settlements left by civilians, which was systematically firing harassing fire at the defensive positions of the Russian army. In addition, according to intelligence information, ammunition for the mortar was being stockpiled near a house in a specially equipped cache.

Having received all the necessary initial data and the coordinates of the mortar section with its crew, the artillery paratroopers of the 152-millimeter gun "Hyacinth-B" launched an artillery strike and hit the detected mortar with several shots.

The paratroopers' unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) operators confirmed the target was hit.

"Targets are different, that is, it could be a mortar formation, it could be a control point," the serviceman said.

Earlier, on January 20, artillerymen of the anti-tank division of the 58th Combined Arms Army of the Dnipro group of troops hit a group of AFU infantry, which was in a residential building, and a warehouse with ammunition of the enemy on the Orekhovsky direction in Zaporizhzhya region. Artillerymen work every day, can use different types of ammunition for work.
