The main novelty - in changing the rule of calculating the benefit. Now maternity benefits for female students are paid by educational organizations from the federal and regional budgets. The amount of allowance depends on the scholarship, which averages 2000-5000 rubles per month. Beginning moms can count on Br9.3 thousand - Br23.3 thousand. The bill proposes to increase the amount of allowance up to 100% of the working-age population in the region where the student lives. In this case, the size of the scholarship will not be taken into account.

Thus, in Lipetsk and Tambov regions, where the lowest PM of Br16 thousand is set this year, the amount of payment will be almost Br74.9 thousand, and in Chukotka, where the subsistence minimum is the highest (about 50.5 thousand), - 235.4 thousand, as noted in the explanatory note to the bill.

Changes will require additional expenditures from the federal budget, is indicated in the financial and economic justification to the document. As predicted in the Ministry of Labor, Br631.4 million will be needed in the first year, which will allow to pay increased allowance to 7 thousand moms who are in full-time education.
