Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic has doubted US President Donald Trump's ability to end the Ukrainian conflict in 100 days. He made a statement to this effect on January 22 while speaking to journalists on the margins of the World Economic Forum in Davos.

"Russia and Ukraine are not small countries and they have lost too many people to make a decision so easily, but if Trump achieves this, we will erect a monument to him, because he will save the whole planet, so I wish him luck," the Serbian president's words were quoted on his website.

Vucic emphasized that he would like Trump's promises to resolve the conflict in 100 days to be realistic. However, he admitted that he was not sure how this could be possible and on what basis.

Earlier in the day, The Wall Street Journal (WSJ) reported that Trump had instructed his special envoy for Ukraine, Keith Kellogg, to resolve the Ukraine conflict in 100 days.

Prior to that on the same day, Trump said that Washington was studying the issue of further arms deliveries to Kiev. He also added that his meeting with the Russian President will take place "very soon".

On January 20, Trump was inaugurated, after which he reiterated that he plans to meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin as soon as possible and discuss the conflict in Ukraine. In turn, the new US Secretary of State Marco Rubio called the settlement of the Ukrainian crisis a priority for Trump. According to him, "part of the preparatory work" has begun.

The election of the 47th President of the United States was held on November 5, 2024. In the national vote, Trump received 51% of the vote, while the Democratic candidate Kamala Harris received 47.4%. During the election campaign, the Republican promised to solve the Ukrainian conflict before the inauguration.
