The Supreme Court of the Lugansk People's Republic (LNR) sentenced 62-year-old Ukrainian citizen Elena Grigorenko to 15 years in prison in the case of espionage for the Ukrainian special services. This was reported in the prosecutor's office of the LNR on January 22.
"The court <...> sentenced the guilty to 15 years of imprisonment with serving the sentence in a penal colony of general regime", - stated in the publication on the website of the agency.
It was established that in January 2023, the pensioner collected data on the locations of Russian military deployment on the territory of the LNR. At the same time, she passed the information she received to her 38-year-old son, who lived in Estonia. Subsequently, he reported the information to the intelligence services of Ukraine.
On the eve of the official representative of the FSSB of Russia in the Donetsk People's Republic (DNR) Arina Klepanova reported the detention of a resident of Mariupol, who is suspected of state treason and espionage in favor of Ukraine. It is specified that the person was granted Russian citizenship and will continue to collect information about Russian servicemen on the instructions of the Ukrainian Defense Ministry's GUR.
