A new automobile checkpoint will appear on the border with China
A new automobile checkpoint is planned to be built in Russia on the border with China; it will be able to accommodate 1 million people a year. They intend to start design work on Bolshoi Ussuriysky Island as early as this year. This was announced by the Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation in its Telegram channel on January 22.
Discussion of the parameters of the construction of the border crossing point "Bolshoi Ussuriysky - Heisyatszydao" took place in Khabarovsk Krai with the participation of representatives of Rosgranstroy. The construction is planned to be carried out according to the standard project, which is now being implemented in the checkpoint "Kani Kurgan" (Amur region), which will reduce the time and increase the speed of work.
According to the Ministry of Transport, the capacity will be 1 million individuals per year (2.5 thousand per day), 36 thousand cars per year (100 per day), 1.3 million tons of cargo per year (3.6 thousand tons per day), 90 thousand cargo vehicles per year (250 per day), as well as 18 thousand passenger buses per year (50 per day).
The new point is planned to install 10 lanes for vehicular traffic: four for trucks, two lanes each for passenger cars and passenger buses, as well as two reserve lanes for oversized cargo.
