Pom-poms, electric soldering iron, address plate, strawberry paste, heating boiler and porcelain were among the non-standard New Year's Eve shipments of Russians. This is stated in the research results of the international express delivery operator SDEK, which were reviewed by "Izvestia" on January 23.

Also among the unusual items sent by Russians to each other during the New Year vacations were nail growth remedy, crosses, leggings with fleece, rags with drawings, night vision device, guitar pedal and beige cord.

Beauty and personal care products were the most popular product category during the holidays, accounting for nearly one in five holiday shipments. Auto parts were found in every 10th New Year's parcel. The share of shipments with clothing and footwear, as well as accessories amounted to 8% each, and parcels with perfumes - 2%, experts noted.

In addition to the most popular categories in the parcels of Muscovites and St. Petersburg residents one could meet electronics. For Kazan residents during the holidays were relevant goods for sports and recreation, and for Ekaterinburg residents - items for hobbies (2%). Residents of Chelyabinsk and Nizhny Novgorod sent goods for construction and repair during the vacations.

Earlier, on January 16, it was reported that among the unusual items that were sent across Russia and from neighboring countries in 2024 were brown horses, hair, church utensils, tokens, Tarot cards, healing mud. This is stated in the results of the research of SDEK. Fishing accessories (tackle, spinning rods, nets and aquashoos), antique and theatrical goods (mannequins, corsets, antique scales, carnival costumes), oversized items for repair and interior (baseboards, heating boilers, bedside tables, switches) were also named among the strange shipments across the country.
