The Turkish flag was flown in front of the country's embassy in Moscow on the day of national mourning for those killed in a fire at the Kartalkaya ski resort in Bolu province. The footage is published on January 22 by Izvestia.
Turkish President Recep Erdogan declared January 22 a day of mourning in the country after a fire at a ski resort. An investigation into the incident has been launched. Also detained four people, including the owner of the resort.
On the same day, the department of the Situation and Crisis Center of the Russian Foreign Ministry reported that there were no Russians injured in the fire at the resort in Turkey.
A large-scale night fire at a resort in Bolu occurred on the night of January 21. According to CNN Türk, the fire started in a wooden hotel located at an altitude of 2,200 meters at around 3:30 am, and the fire spread quickly. There were almost 240 guests in the building that caught fire. During the incident, 76 people died while 51 others were injured.
Bolu Governor Abdulaziz Aydın later said the fire had been largely brought under control.
Russian President Vladimir Putin offered condolences to his Turkish counterpart, relatives and friends of the victims over the tragic consequences of the fire. The Russian leader also wished all the victims a speedy recovery.
