Trump demanded an apology from a bishop for asking for pity on migrants
US President Donald Trump appealed to the Episcopal Church with a demand for a public apology from the clergywoman, who on the eve of the service in Washington called on him to respect migrants and sexual minorities (the LGBT movement is recognized as extremist and banned in Russia) and be merciful to them. The head of state wrote about this on January 22 on his page in the social network Truth Social.
As the politician noted, the bishop, who appealed to him at a service in Washington, is his "radical leftist hater."
"She has dragged her church into the world of politics in a very ungraceful way. She hasn't mentioned the huge number of illegal immigrants who have come into our country and killed people. She is not doing her job very well! She and her church should apologize to the public!" - Trump pointed out in his post.
The politician noted that the cathedral service he attended was for him "very boring and uninspiring."
Earlier, on January 21, the curator of border security in the Trump administration, Thomas Homan, said that the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) began detaining illegal migrants for further deportation. However, Homan noted that ICE's actions cannot be called "raids" as they are part of targeted law enforcement operations.
On the same day, a coalition of at least 18 U.S. states filed a lawsuit against the president's decision to limit the granting of U.S. citizenship by birthright. Another group of states, which included Arizona and Washington, filed another separate lawsuit against Trump's signature decision.
Also on January 20, during the procedure of his inauguration, Trump said that from that day on, the official policy of the United States is to recognize only two genders - male and female. The head of state promised that the strength of the United States will allow to "end all wars" and ensure unity in the world, and announced the beginning of the "golden age of America".
