Donald Trump's first decrees as U.S. president indicate the advent of an era of common sense in the world, Hungarian Foreign Minister Péter Szijjártó said on January 22.

"We are living in a new world. There is a new president in the US. Donald Trump's first decrees make it clear that the era of war, migration and gender madness is over and the era of peace, security, national sovereignty and common sense has arrived," he said in a video published on the politician's Facebook page (owned by the recognized extremist company Meta, its activities are banned in Russia).

Szijjártó noted that Hungary has had to fight many times in recent years to keep itself out of conflict, keep migrants out and "not fall into gender madness."

"It is good that we now have a president of the United States who shares our views on these issues, who wants peace and security, respects national sovereignty and thinks the same as we do about the fact that one can be born [only] male or female," the diplomat added.

In the coming period, Hungary will strengthen its political ambitions for a peaceful life in Europe with universal respect for national sovereignty and the family as the foundation of society, he said.

At the same time, Budapest will continue to adhere to economic neutrality for the sake of new investments and job creation for all comers, Szijjártó concluded.

Earlier, on January 20, Trump took the oath of office, becoming the 47th president of the United States. At the inauguration ceremony, he announced the beginning of "America's Golden Age" and that the country's official policy is now to recognize only two genders - male and female. Since taking office, he has signed more than 200 executive orders, one of which suspended Washington's overseas aid.

Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban said Budapest expects peace, calm and economic recovery from Trump's presidency. Washington may now change course toward conservative values, he said.

Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova on January 22 also expressed the opinion that with Trump's arrival in the White House, all the values previously promoted by the United States "flew into the basket" and turned into "anti-values".
