Zakharova pointed to the US abrogation of its own values with Trump's arrival
All the values previously promoted by the United States with the coming to power of American leader Donald Trump have "flown into the basket". Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said on January 22.
"The values that for the past decades have been enshrined as overriding not only inside the United States, but most importantly, this was the agenda for the United States abroad. In one second everything changed," she said on Sputnik radio.
The diplomat specified that it concerns not only the diversity of genders, but also the attitude to the essence of a human being. According to her, the previously promoted values have been outlawed and turned into "anti-values".
In addition, Zakharova added, with the arrival of the new government in the United States, all positions responsible for promoting the American agenda were zeroed out.
On January 20, Trump took the oath of office, becoming the 47th president of the United States. After the inauguration ceremony, he signed more than 200 decrees. In particular, he approved decisions to withdraw the country from WHO and create the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE).
Also, the Republican suspended Washington's aid abroad, returned the death penalty at the federal level and postponed the blocking of TikTok. Along with this, Trump rescinded about 80 executive orders of former US President Joe Biden's administration, including on electric cars. He also announced the recognition of only two genders in the US - male and female.
