In Roskachestvo told about ways to recognize fake applications of banks
Fake banking applications are found on any phones, they look and work like real ones, so it is difficult to recognize them. This was reported on Wednesday, January 22, by the digital expertise center of Roskachevo.
Fraudsters create fake banking apps, especially for iPhone, where there are no official versions. On Android, they fake the design and logos of real applications. It is specified that the signs of fake are: a small number of negative reviews, mistakes in the name or adding a word, as well as spelling and punctuation errors in the description.
It is noted that when installing unofficial banking applications, users enter their personal data, including CVV-code, which leads to information theft and loss of access to the service, as well as the application can become spyware, passing all the data to fraudsters.
"To protect ourselves from attackers, it is important to be proactive - to recognize fake banking apps in advance," Sergey Kuzmenko, head of Roskachevo's digital expertise center, told RIA Novosti.
Earlier, on January 20, it was reported that the most frequent scenario of telephone fraud in 2024 was the offer to allegedly extend the contract with the telecom operator. According to the company "Yandex", in the total structure of fraudulent calls, this scenario takes 44%. Another common scheme is two-stage pressure on the user (20%).
