A bank employee in Moscow stole about 180 million rubles from a safe deposit box
In Moscow, the police detained a bank employee for stealing about 180 million rubles from the safe deposit box of one of the clients. This was reported by the official representative of the Russian Interior Ministry Irina Volk on January 22.
"An employee of the Moscow branch of the bank took advantage of his official position and stole about 180 million rubles belonging to the client from the safe deposit box. When the employees of the financial and credit institution discovered the loss, they turned to the police," she wrote in Telegram-channel.
The identity of the suspect was promptly established, then he was detained in one of the capital's airports.
According to law enforcers, the attacker took out cash in installments, and the last batch of 35 million rubles was transferred to cryptocurrency.
A criminal case on theft (part 4 of article 158 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation) was initiated, the figure was arrested. The circumstances of the theft are being established.
Earlier, on January 17, in Sochi was detained a suspect in the theft of about 168 million rubles from the cells of citizens in the depository center. The police were contacted by 18 victims. The same day the court arrested the defendant.
