Student killed during internship at Vladivostok fish port

A third-year student of the branch of the Russian Customs Academy in Vladivostok died on the territory of the fishing port in the city, where she was sent for internship. This was reported by the Far Eastern Transport Prosecutor's Office on January 22.

"According to preliminary data, the 20-year-old girl was on the territory of the port with customs officers as part of her industrial practice, " - noted in the Telegram-channel of the department.

The incident occurred on January 21. The prosecutor's office is conducting an investigative inspection for the implementation of the law on safety. The investigation is being conducted by the Primorsky investigative department on transport of the Eastern MSUT of the Investigative Committee (IC) of Russia.

Earlier, on October 10, 2024, soil and coal rock collapsed at the Mokhovsky open-pit mine in Kuzbass. Two workers were injured as a result of the incident. A criminal case was opened under Article 216 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Violation of safety rules during work"). After, on October 14, rescuers also extracted the body of the dead worker from under the rubble.
