Ukrainian servicemen deliberately shelled the houses of civilians in Gornyak in the Donetsk People's Republic (DNR) because they considered them "separatists". A local resident told Izvestia about this on January 22.
The eyewitness showed the film crew the houses in Gornyak that suffered as a result of shelling by the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU).
"The arrival is actually next to the wall, completely riddled. Just to such residents repair crews come, try to help, close the windows, board up the roof, so that at least there was heat and no water flowing," commented Izvestia correspondent Alexander Safiulin.
A local resident described in detail how the liberation of Gornyak took place and what the Ukrainian servicemen were doing.
"There were mortar men sitting 100 meters away from us. And it turns out that their muzzle was turned not to the Russian side, but to our side, they were hitting our sector with a steep overhang," he said.
The man emphasized that, sitting in the basement for two months, he clearly felt the arrivals, on which the AFU spent 20-30 shells a day.
"We still had a sniper walking down the street here, lived here for two weeks. The AFU shelled their own territories. As I personally heard it - I was standing in a store - a military man had an argument with some saleswoman and said: "You need to be shelled more! You need to be killed more so that you will not be punished, because you are all Separists here," said a civilian.
Soldiers of the 5th separate commandant regiment of the 51st Army of the Russian Armed Forces are now working on the site. They ensure the safety of civilians.
The day before, the media reported on the deterioration of the AFU positions in the area of Gornyak and Selidovo in the DNR. It was noted that Russian troops were already advancing towards the central district of Selidovo, where Ukrainian army units are grouped. In Hornyak, the Russian Armed Forces (AF) moved from the northern neighborhoods to storm the southern neighborhoods.
On October 21, it was reported that Latin American mercenaries deployed to defend Chasov Yar DNR requested evacuation. In one radio intercept recording, the Colombian mercenaries admit that they are unable to fight.
On October 19, the Russian Armed Forces took control of Zoryanoye in the DNR. The settlement was liberated as a result of successful actions by units of the Southern Group of Forces.
Over the past week, the Russian army liberated several settlements: Nevskoye in the Luhansk People's Republic (LPR), Maximilianivka, Mikhailivka, Krasny Yar in the DNR and Levadnoye in the Zaporizhzhya region.
The special operation to protect Donbass, the start of which was announced by Russian President Vladimir Putin on February 24, 2022, continues. The decision was made against the background of the aggravated situation in the region.
