The Izvestiya newspaper has found out that a pharmaceutical factory near Tula produced medicines from substances without documents confirming their safety. This is about the antibiotic Biapenem, which is included in the list of vital and essential drugs approved by the Ministry of Health. The substances were supplied from India and China.

These and many other violations in the production and storage of drugs were discovered during an unscheduled inspection of the plant by representatives of the Ministry of Industry and Trade. As a result, the ministry filed an application to the arbitration court of the Tula region demanding that Interpharma, the owner of the plant, be held administratively liable.

"The design features, as well as the operation of production and storage facilities does not exclude the risks of contamination (contamination. - Ed.). As a result, the use of this drug may pose a threat of harm to the life and health of patients", - said in a statement to the court.

The court may impose a penalty in the form of administrative suspension of the company's activities for up to 90 days, on officials a fine of 5 to 10 thousand rubles, on legal entities - from 100 to 200 thousand rubles, said court lawyer, an expert on the security of electronic transactions Ilya Vasilchuk.

"Interpharma", in addition to "Biapenem", produces the antibiotic "Cilaspin", anti-ulcer drug "Pantoprazole", sugar-lowering drug "Metformin" and a number of other drugs.
