Chairman of the Moscow Patriarchate's Synodal Department for Relations between the Church and Society and Mass Media Vladimir Legoyda said that media people, including clergymen, should think carefully about every word. Legoyda told TASS on January 21.

"Fr. Andrei is a very talented and media-savvy person, and like many media people, he can sometimes emotionally cross the line that should not be crossed," he noted.

According to the chairman of the synodal department, this instruction was given to him by Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia in 2009. Legoyda said that after his appointment the Patriarch told him how to behave at press conferences: "with the understanding of the highest responsibility for every word you say". The head of the synodal department noted that this applies to every person.

In addition, Legoyda said that it is impossible to speak on behalf of the entire ROC without special authorization.

The Agency specifies that Archpriest Andrei Tkachev in his sermon on his YouTube channel linked the strikes of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) on the territory of the Russian Federation with the punishment of Russians for abortion and fornication.

Before that, on January 7, Russian President Vladimir Putin, after the Christmas service at the Church of the Great Martyr George the Victorious on Poklonnaya Hill in Moscow, went to the Cathedral of Christ the Savior, where Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia, at his request, blessed crosses and icons for servicemen in the Special Military Operation (SMO) zone.

Earlier, on January 6, Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia urged believers to pray for peace and justice, as peace without justice is dangerous. According to the patriarch, one should ask the Lord to protect relatives, friends and the Fatherland from troubles and sorrows.
